(ST. JOHN'S, NL) The UNB REDS fought back from down five points at the half to beat the Memorial Sea-Hawks 84-72 in Atlantic University Sport men's basketball play, Friday night, in St. John's.
Marcus Barnes scored a game-high 37 points to lead the REDS.
Ben Power added a dozen points and 14 rebounds for a double-double, Brandon Laryea had eight points and 14 rebounds, and Eden Otshudi scored 10.
Jodick Moudiandambu led the Sea-Hawks, scoring 15 points and grabbing six rebounds.
Andrew Robison, Josh Reimer, and former RED Norm Burry added 13 points each, while Cameron Stanford came off the Memorial bench to grab 10 rebounds.
With the win, the REDS grab a share of the lead in the AUS standings.
Their 6-3 record is good for 12 points, tied with Cape Breton and Acadia.
Memorial is now 2-5.
The REDS and Sea-Hawks will tangle again Saturday in the finale of their weekend series. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30pm Atlantic.
