(FREDERICTON, NB) The UNB REDS dropped a 77-58 decision to the visiting Acadia Axemen in Atlantic University Sport men's basketball action, Saturday night at UNB's Richard J. Currie Center.
Acadia led 47-32 at the half and continued to hold off the REDS in second half.
Robbie Grant led all scorers with 31 points for the Axemen. He added 14 rebounds for the double-double.
Connor Landell registered a double-double in a losing cause for the REDS. He sank 18 points and grabbed 11 boards.
Eden Otshudi added 13 points and four assists, and Marcus Barnes scored a dozen points.
Gabe Davignon dropped 13 points for the visitors.
The REDS are now 6-5 and tied for third place in the AUS standings with Cape Breton.
Acadia remains first overall with an 8-3 record.
The REDS return to action after the holiday and exam period break. They host the Capers in the first of a two-game weekend series on Friday, January 9th (2026). Tip-off is scheduled for 8:00pm.
