(MONCTON, NB) l'Universite de Moncton Aigles Bleus beat the UNB REDS 6-1 in Atlantic University Sport men's hockey action, Saturday night, in Moncton.
The home team scored three times in the first period and added three more in the second.
Justin Nolet scored the REDS only goal of the game late in the second period.
Jeremy Lapointe scored three times for Moncton and Denis Toner recorded three assists.
Justin Gendron, Carl-Anthony Masse, and Jules Boilard also scored for Moncton.
Liam Sztuska surrendered five goals on 17 shots and suffered the loss in the UNB net. Remi Delafontaine, who took over for Sztuska mid-way through the second period, gave up one goal on 11 shots.
Olivier Adam stopped 22 of the 23 REDS shots he faced.
With the loss, the REDS are now 11-8-1-0 (W-L-OTL-SOL). They hang on to fifth place in the AUS standings.
Moncton is now 14-5-1-0 and is tied for first with Acadia.
The REDS next action is Friday when they visit the Axemen for a 7:00pm start.
Moncton will be in Halifax to face Dalhousie the same night.
