REDS Fall In Straight Sets
(SHERBROOKE, QC) The U SPORTS No. 2 ranked Sherbrooke Vert et Or beat the UNB REDS 3-0 Friday night in RSEQ men's volleyball action, in Sherbrooke.
The home team won with scores of 25-20, 25-21, and 25-22 in the opener of a two-match weekend series.
Eduardo Luchese led the UNB effort with nine kills and five digs.
Kieran Brost added eight kills while Lucas Maffia had 17 assists and Finn McMorran added 15.
Sherbrooke limited UNB to just five blocks over three sets.
Francis Del Vecchio led the Vert et Or with a dozen kills. Jeremie Rainville and Antoine Ravet each had five digs.
While Sherbrooke improves to 5-and-0 in RSEQ play, the REDS fall to 2-and-3.
The teams will square off again on Saturday in a game scheduled to begin at 2:00pm Atlantic Standard Time.
Saturday's match will be the final match for UNB in 2024.
The REDS will resume their RSEQ regular season in January, when they visit Montreal (Jan. 10th and 11th).
