REDS Add RS Losier
(FREDERICTON, NB) The UNB REDS men’s volleyball team is adding 6’4” right side Nicolas Losier, to their recruiting class of 2024.
The 19-year-old, from Ottawa, comes to the REDS after playing two seasons with the Cégep Limoilou Titans. He’s signed a U SPORTS Letter of Intent and will join the REDS ahead of the 2024-2025 RSEQ season.
“Nic is coming to us after playing a couple of seasons for one of the top college programs in the country,” said REDS head coach Dan McMorran. “His physicality, passion for the game, and work ethic, make him a solid addition to our team.”
In 2023-24, Losier helped Limoilou to the RSEQ Cégep championship and the silver medal at the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association championship.
A former member of the Ottawa Mavericks club program, he was part of a high school team that won five consecutive Ottawa-area league championships and were runners-up in an Ontario high school championship tournament.
“I have a very positive attitude and am a hard worker. I have a constant desire to learn and improve,” said Losier. “I’m quite physical which helps me be a very solid blocker.”
Losier’s short-term goals include earning playing time and competing for the REDS. Long-term, he wants to help UNB win a conference championship.
“I was very interested in the opportunity for development and the hard-working attitude that UNB has to offer,” said Losier. “They have a great group of guys and I interested in being a part of it.”
Losier will study Kinesiology while attending UNB.
