REDS Fall At Montreal

(MONTREAL, QC) The UNB REDS dropped a 3-1 decision to the Universite de Montreal Carabins in RSEQ men's volleyball action, Friday evening in Montreal.

The REDS took the opening set 25-19 from the U SPORTS No. 6 ranked Carabins, but lost the next three 15-25, 20-25, and 17-25.

Lucas Maffia led the REDS with a dozen kills and a pair of service aces and a pair of blocks.

Moritz Möhring added 10 kills while Alex Bourque had nine digs and Finn McMorran put up 37 assists. Benjamin Sullivan contributed eight digs.

Hugo Considere struck a match-high 15 kills for Montreal and Etienne Grenier put up a remarkable 10 blocks.

Maxime St-Denis had 42 assists and five blocks while Alexandre St-Denis registered nine digs.

The REDS are now 6-9 and sit fourth in the RSEQ standings.

Montreal is in first place with a 13-1 record.

The REDS and Carabins conclude their weekend series and their RSEQ regular season schedules on Saturday. Game time is 2:00pm Atlantic.
