(WOLFVILLE, NS) The UNB REDS women's soccer team remains undefeated after a pair of draws on the weekend, Friday night at Saint Mary's and Sunday at Acadia.
On Friday, Lauren Clarke scored in the 25th minute to give the visiting REDS an early lead, but the host Huskies answered almost immediately, in the 27th minute, to tie the game.
Ava Henry made four saves to give UNB a single point.
In Sunday's scoreless draw at Acadia, Breanna Habinski recorded six saves to earn the clean sheet.
"A weekend of mixed feelings," said REDS' head coach Jon Crossland. "On Friday, we didn't have our normal intensity or spirit, so we never fully settled into the game to get a grasp on it. We were second to a lot of things and it led to a frustrating result against Saint Mary's."
"On Sunday, our effort and commitment to battle was much higher. The game was spirited with tackles and challenges going both ways. We created opportunities but couldn't find a finish."
UNB is now 4-0-3 (W-L-T) and tied for second place in the Atlantic University Sport standings.
Up next for the REDS, a clash of AUS unbeatens as UNB hosts conference-leading Dalhousie Saturday and Sunday. The Tigers are 7-0-0.
Both games are scheduled for 1:00pm starts.
"We'll look forward to getting back to work this week and welcoming Dal for a big weekend of AUS soccer," said Coach Crossland.
