REDS Begin Class Of '26
(FREDERICTON, NB) With the start of their 2025-2026 Atlantic University Sport regular season on the horizon, the UNB REDS women’s volleyball team is naming the first member of their recruiting class of 2026.
Setter Emma Lawrence, of Warman, Saskatchewan, has signed a U SPORTS Letter of Intent and will join the REDS ahead of the 2026-2027 AUS season.
“Emma is a competitive and hard-working athlete whose values align strongly with our team culture,” said REDS’ head coach Lauren Hale-Miller. “She brings a physical presence to the setter position and a determination that will elevate those around her.”
“What appealed to me about UNB is the atmosphere,” said Lawrence. “I admire the coaching style and the way things are run.”
“I’m a tall setter that can make myself a threat at the net and be able to run a strong middle offence,” she added. “Whether I’m on the court or not, I’ll be a supportive and encouraging teammates.”
Currently in her Grade 12 year at Warman High School, the 6’0” Lawrence is a veteran member of Saskatoon’s Huskie Volleyball Club, having been part of their 16U Elite, 16U Premier, and 18U Premier sides. She’s helped Huskie club teams to tournament titles throughout western Canada and the United States and has been on provincial championship teams in a number of age categories.
She’s also been a member of Team Saskatchewan at the 17U and 18U levels.
“We look forward to seeing the impact she’ll make on the court and within our group,” said Coach Hale-Miller.
Lawrence will study Arts while attending UNB with the goal of earning an Education degree.
